But for those who have never been to this beautiful part of the world, they often ask: “What are the best golf courses in Tenerife?” Below is a quick guide including 8 of the Best Golf Courses in Tenerife

8 of the Best Golf Courses in Tenerife

1. Golf Las Americas

Attractively located in a natural, gently sloping amphitheater, the course at Golf Las Americas offers several attractions, such as ravines and lakes, that create a demanding test of golf.

The course has been hosting professional golf tournaments since 2000, with the most notable being the 2012 Spanish Ladies Open on the Ladies European Tour.

Famous names in the women's game featured including Carlota Ciganda, Laura Davies and Caroline Masson, with Australian Stacey Keating winning the tournament.

2. Tecina Golf Club

This course is not on the island of Tenerife, but it is close enough, on the small island of La Gomera to the east of Tenerife. This course was the host of the 2015 Olsen Challenge de Espana on the European Challenge Tour, which is testament to Donald Steel's incredible design.

Golfers are treated with uninterrupted views of the mountains, Tenerife and the Atlantic Ocean from start to finish, making it a truly magical course to play on your golf break in Tenerife.
Type: Holes 18 // Par 71
Location: Island of Gomera

3. Golf Del Sur

Offering 27-holes of championship golf in the North, South and Links courses, it is no wonder Golf del Sur is regarded as one of the best courses in Tenerife.

Wide fairways, with a variety of flora, combined with the volcanic black sand bunkers make this a truly unique golfing experience.

Palm trees and giant cacti appear on all three nines, which were remodeled by Manuel Pinero in 2005. Off the course there is a driving range, putting and chipping green, mini-golf, bar, and restaurant for golfers to enjoy.
Type: Holes 18 Main Course and 9 Second Course
Location: Golf Del Sur

4. Golf Costa Adeje - The Old Course

The Old Course at Golf Costa Adeje, also known as the Championship Course, has been designed by integrating the natural characteristics of the area into the course.

The original stone walls, used to demarcate the former banana plantations, were completely restored and are a key feature of this course. The round will see you negotiate ravines, valleys, tricky doglegs and water hazards for a challenging, but truly enjoyable, round of golf.
Type: Holes 18 // Par 72
Location: Costa Adeje

5. Amarilla Golf

Designed by famous golf course architect Donald Steel, you can see just how well he took advantage of the beautiful contrasts of the island to achieve a varied layout between ravines and the Atlantic Coast.

Amarilla is a gentle walk, which makes the course even more enjoyable, while still offering a defense through water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. The 5th hole stands out here, as you must play your approach across the sea to reach the green.
Type: Holes 18 // Par 71
Location: Southeast close to Tenerife Airport

6. Abama Golf

By combining large greens with wide fairways, the course at Abama Golf Resort does allow every standard of golfer to enjoy its challenges.

Dave Thomas designed this course, with the stand out hole coming on the 10th, as it rises 480-feet above sea level with a dogleg left. That isn't all, the course boundaries run along the right side and a series of lakes on the left must be avoided.

This is a round of golf that should not be missed by those playing in Tenerife.
Type: Holes 18 // Par 72
Location: Southwest of the island

7. Buenavista Golf Course

Buenavista Golf Course, designed by Seve Ballesteros, is beautifully situated atop a cliff close to Teno Country Park – arguably offering some of the most incredible views of any course in Tenerife.

Furthermore, the waterfall that links the lakes on holes nine and 18 only makes the course even more aesthetically pleasing.

Type: Holes 18 // Par 72
Location: Northwest Tenerife

8. Golf Costa Adeje

However, it arguably offers the better sights of the two, thanks to stunning sea views and six lakes coming into play. But don't let the watery vistas of the Atlantic Ocean distract you from the task ahead.

The Los Lagos Course also offers the higher handicapper the chance to enjoy the game more, due to its lack of length. every standard of golfer to enjoy its challenges.

This is a round of golf that should not be missed by those playing in Tenerife.
Type: Holes 18 // Par 72
Second Course Holes 9 // Par 33
Location: Costa Adeje
